How We Address Moles Effectively

At Wingman Pest Control, we understand the importance of both immediate mole removal and long-term prevention. Our comprehensive approach ensures that moles are eradicated from your yard and won’t return to damage your landscape.

Step 1: Thorough Property Inspection

We start by performing a detailed inspection of your property to assess the level of the mole infestation. Our team looks for signs of activity, including fresh tunnels, mounds, and other telltale signs of mole damage. During the inspection, we identify the areas where moles are most active, enabling us to pinpoint their entry points and determine the best course of action for removal.

This inspection provides us with a complete understanding of the situation, ensuring that we can create a tailored solution that effectively addresses the problem. We take the time to look at both the exterior and the interior of your yard to ensure no area is left unchecked.

Step 2: Safe and Effective Mole Removal

Once we’ve located the active mole tunnels and areas of infestation, we employ the only effective way to remove the moles. We use traps strategically placed in the most active areas, ensuring that we target the moles directly and eliminate them quickly. Our methods are safe and environmentally friendly, meaning they won’t pose any harm to your pets or plants. The part of the trap that captures the mole is underground and the trigger can only be set off from inside the mole tunnel.

Step 3: Preventing Future Infestations

Mole control needs to be considered a maintenance service. We can remove the existing moles that are in the yard, but unfortunately there has never been an effective way to keep new moles from neighboring properties from eventually moving in. Luckily, moles in the north only have one new litter per year in the spring and moles are territorial so they do not live in large groups. An average city lot size yard can feed 1-3 moles and an average 1-acre yard 3-7 moles.

Our mole traps are lethal. New moles can move in after the trapping is finished depending on the population in the surrounding area.
The part of the trap that grabs the moles is underground, it cannot harm anyone above ground. However, if the trap is pulled out of the ground or tampered with, it's possible that it can snap or harm you. We suggest keeping kids and pets away from traps during the trapping period.
The lawncare company can simply mow around the traps and our technician can move them to fresh areas during their visit while checking the traps. Please inform our technician if this is needed.
An average city lot can support 1-3 moles while an acre lot can support 3-7 moles on average. Some lawns seem to have never-ending moles because the surrounding population in other yards is high.
A moles main diet is earthworms. If you have grubs, you may treat for them, however, it will not affect mole populations.
Having moles in your yard has no direct correlation with having grubs. Mole’s top diet consists of earthworms.
A.No, they do not hibernate. They travel up and down with the frost-line of the soil which is the same pattern of travel as earthworms.
None of these methods works at all. There has never been any consistent results from these home-style remedies.
Poisons will kill moles, but results have always been inconsistent at best. Trapping is labor intensive but works 100% of the time applied long enough.
Moles are carnivorous and do not eat plant roots. Grass and plants are often killed from mole damage because the soil underneath their roots has been removed which stops the flow of nutrients and water.
